So with 2D, 3D and 4D Baby Scans it can all get a bit confusing. Here’s a quick rundown of what the terms mean:
2D Baby scans.
2D Baby scans are the typical scan you might think of if, like me, you ever went to see a scan of your little brother or sister when you were a child. They are the traditional non colour version and are used to see the organs of the unborn baby. They are mainly used these days to check for anomalies and enable you to see your babies heart.
3D & 4D Baby scans
3D Baby Scans are a three dimensional image of the baby in the womb. With this type of scan you are able to see expressions on your babies face.
4D Baby Scans combine the 3D image with the movement of the baby in real time. As the baby movers around its mother’s tummy, kicks or move’s it’s hand you can see the exact movement on the screen.
