ALL ABOUT 3D BABY SCANS

The use of 3D images in ultrasounds have been used for a few years, but until recently, was not as widely used or not an affordable imaging option. While 3d baby scans are more expensive than regular ultrasound imaging, they are more affordable now then in the past. These 3D images are created by paralleling successive 2D images. The images are much clearer and you can see detailed views of your baby’s face, arms, legs and other features. You can get a CD of your 3D imaging scan. On top of these great images of your unborn baby, you can also choose 4D image scans that can be viewed as a movie of your baby and put on DVD. Imagine the possibilities of this amazing 3D and 4D scanning technology.

When you see your baby swallow, blink and make facial expressions via one of these 3d baby scans, you will be amazed. These imaging options are safe to both mother and baby and no problems have ever been reported on this kind of imaging. One of the major differences with these scans and traditional ultrasounds is that you do not have to go in with a full bladder. This is a great selling point to pregnant women. While there is no guarantee that the sex of your baby can be accurately determined, it is more accurate than regular ultrasound. The baby has to be positioned right before any such determination can be made.

Parents are choosing to use 3d baby scans to enhance the parent/child bonding process. This type of imaging gives you a better view of your baby. You can see what he or she looks like or if there are multiples being carried. The use of this technology is also good for checking for certain problems that may exist, but is primarily used for the parents to put a real face to their baby and bonding. Many couples report a closer relationship after 3d baby scans. This is probably due to seeing the baby in such a clear image, making it real so they can discuss who the baby looks like.
